Got a great response to an email I send out
It’s an automatic one when someone applies to join SF
Mainly for people who don’t know me
Or what I and SF Fitness stand for
Think of it like a gatekeeper strategy
To protect our current members
And our coaches sanity
The gist of their email was this
My email was…
Ridiculously aggressive and rude
And this person goes on to say
they’ve worked with personal trainers for 7 years
Big deal
Just because you’ve worked with a trainer doesn’t change anything
You see there are different types of people who hire trainers
People who want the extra push, the expertise, support and the accountability
And people who just want someone to force them to exercise
& think paying for a trainer is all that’s needed to get results
I’ve worked with both types
And refuse to work with the second type anymore,
no matter what money they want to pay
They’re just not for us here at SF
So this email of mine goes on to state what type of person we don’t want
And it finishes like this…
If you’ve gotten angry, pissed off or insulted by this then you’re one of ‘those people’Â
and this email has workedÂ
and so that link to unsubscribe is down here
Sure enough this person got so angry they felt the urge to write back
reinforcing the need for the email
Because if they weren’t one of those people
They wouldn’t have thought it was
Ridiculously aggressive and rude
Thankfully they’ve saved us the hassle of booking them in for a complimentary consult
Like this one (as long as you’re not one of them, you’re not right?)
John ‘ridiculously awesome (or so my mother tells me)’Â O’C
P.S. I’m doing some crazy shit right now to prepare for the photoshoot on Friday
Will fill you in over the week and tell you why I’d never recommend you do anything like it
