Driving into work on Sunday
Yep I know it was Sunday, day of rest and all that
But I have a Sunday ritual that sets me up for a productive week
Makes everything flow smoothly and actually gives me more time off
Helps with keeping my waistline down too
Anyhoo I was listening to a chat show.
Some girl was on talking about eating healthy
I started to get angry quite quickly
She was going on about making your own sauces
Which ain’t too hard I’ll admit
But I’m lazy and like to save time
So I get mine from a jar <– shock horror
Anyway she mentioned that some of these sauces
Can have up to 22 teaspoons of sugar in them
>>>Holy diabetes Batman<<<
But wait…
Do they really have that much?
Eh….
NO
See this is what happens when ill informed charlatans get some exposure
They make people believe nonsense like this
I got onto my ol’ compadre Google
And found out a jar of Uncle Ben’s sweet and sour sauce
Will have around 88 grms total carbs per jar
And seeing as ALL CARBS are turned into sugar in your body
One could argue 88grms is the equivalent to 18 teaspoons of sugar
Not quite the 22 but still sounds pretty high right?
But it’s not all from added sugar. It’s from the fruit and veg too.
You get me?
And then you gotta look at how much of the jar you’d eat in one meal
I typically use half a jar and would make enough to last 4 meals
So that’d be 4.5 teaspoons of carbs/sugar, which is a grand total of 18 calories
…..18
18 fricken calories
If this charlatan thinks you can get fat by eating 18 calories she needs her head examined
You’re gonna be bombarded over the coming weeks about what you should eat to eat healthy
And most of it is pure BS
Luckily for you I got your back
But instead of just using these emails I’m going one better
And putting on a seminar for you
Where I’ll show you,
Among other things,
How to lose weight and be healthy while eating sugar every day
