Hat tip to SF rockstar Eva for this one
Apparently souping is the new juicing
Oh dear
Sure, eating soup is fine
As is having the odd veggie juice
>But when it turns into an all out diet
That promises weight loss and detoxing
Well then
It turns John into Angry John
The basis of the diet is having a load of soups throughout the day
They say the soups are strategically planned at certain times
To kick start your metabolism <–BS Alert ^^^
It’s coming from all angles here
Not sure if I can dodge all of it
You wanna know another way to kick start your metabolism?
Get of of bed!
Who knew actually moving would cause these soupers to burn more calories?
Like I said, there’s nothing wrong with soups
And they can help you get more veg in if you’re not getting enough
But I’ve saved the best part till now
You see the diet seems to be all about the magic of these special soups
Eaten at certain magical times of the day to help you
But then you read the small print
“Avoid all caffeine, alcohol, dairy products, red meat, refined sugar,
bread, artificial chemicals or processed foods if you can,
and aim to keep your lunch and dinner soups as varied as possible”
Now I wonder,
Is it having soup that will give all the glorious weight shedding they promise
Or the fact these soupers will simply end up eating much, much less because
They fck’n can’t eat anything else
Yep, thankfully you’re a smart one and can see right through it
The other side is what happens after?
They’re either gonna keep living on soup and in fear of anything processed
Shh..Just don’t tell them soup is processed, even if it’s homemade
Or go back to their current normal
Which isn’t supporting the body they want
Or at least it’s contributing to how shitty they are feeling now
That’s why the best diet for you is the one where you first set up a baseline
A habit of eating that’s not restrcitive and you feel in control of
And brings you closer to the body and health you want
Once you have that
Then you can throw in some advanced stuff like I’ve been doing over the past while
At least then you have a better ‘normal’ to go back to

John ‘don’t make me angry’ O’C
P.S. My cravings are insane right now.
I knew the whole can’t have mindset was a killer
I just haven’t lived it for so long
I’d forgotten how hard it is
Walked past the cakes in Super Value yesterday eve
I literally wanted everyone of them
And now I can’t wait to be able to eat normally again
There is one plus side to this for me
I’ll fill you in tomorrow…
