Was driving to training the other day
Saw a young guy walk past an older guy
Older guy said something to him
Next thing the young guy sticks out his arm
And starts to help the older guy to cross the road
Made me smile
And then I thought about how many times I’ve needed help
And not asked for it
Because I thought I could do it myself
Or should do it myself
Or had to do it myself
But the truth is
Asking for help just makes things easier
I’ve done it numerous times this year
When I was setting up the fitness centre
When I busted my back ripping up the old carpet
When my marriage ended
When I didn’t know how to cope with so many members
When I realised I’d been living a ‘fake’ life for the last few years
When I let myself get out of shape
I turned to people who could help
And they all did
In fact, 1 year on
And I’m in the best shape mentally and physically I’ve ever been in
You might think you know what you should do
But isn’t it a better idea to ask someone who’s got the experience
And the knowledge
To help you move away from where you are right now
And towards a better place?
John ‘help I need somebody’ O’C
P.S. Got nothing to offer you today
So if you want, hit me up with an email (info@sffitness.ie) on what you are struggling with
And I’ll get back to asap
